Cosmetic & therapeutic Botox treatments

Helping you maintain a healthy and beautiful smile is one of our goals here at Calgary Dental House. Did you know, however, that we could also help you improve your facial aesthetics? We’re committed to helping you look and feel your best, so Dr. Crawford and Dr. Reddy offer Botox treatments that can be used for both therapeutic and aesthetic purposes.

You’ll never have to go anywhere else for Botox!

What is Botox?

Botulin toxin, or Botox, is a naturally occurring protein produced by Clostridium botulin bacteria. Used in small doses, Botox is safe, the effects are controlled, and the results are phenomenal. Treatments are quick, easy, and comfortable, and recovery time is minimal.

Our doctors will carefully inject Botox into your facial muscles, which helps them relax and, in turn, reduces fine lines and wrinkles. We can complete Botox for you right here in the comfort of our office.

How long do the results last?

While you’ll notice some immediate results, Botox typically takes full effect after two weeks, and it can last for up to four months.

Therapeutic Botox for pain relief

Botox can also be used to help minimise or even eliminate the painful symptoms of TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder) including shoulder, neck, and facial pain; chronic headaches and migraines; clenching and grinding (bruxism). Because it relaxes your muscles, the facial pain and headaches caused by TMJ are often greatly reduced and even completely alleviated in some cases.

For those who clench or grind their teeth at night, Botox can also help reduce the excessive wear and damage caused to your teeth. Many patients who initially turned to Botox to help reduce their pain also love the appealing aesthetics and changes to their appearance that it offers.

Botox at the dentist?

You may wonder why you should choose your dentist for Botox treatments. The answer is simple—Dr. Crawford and Dr. Reddy’s studies in dentistry included the anatomy of the head, neck, and oral cavity. In addition, they’ve both completed certification and training in the use of Botox. This knowledge, coupled with their dental training, allows them to deliver your treatment with accuracy and precision, which achieves outstanding results whether you’re hoping to improve aesthetics, eliminate pain, or both.
