What is Botox?
Botox, or Botulin toxin, is the shorter term for a protein produced by Clostridium botulin bacteria. Botox is delivered strategically through an injection into your facial muscles. This helps the muscles to relax, which in turn reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and can also eliminate headaches, bruxism, and jaw joint pain. The effects of Botox typically last for around three to four months, and recovery from the process is minimal.
While Botox is widely used to enhance your appearance, many patients are turning to it for other reasons. Patients who experience painful issues with their TMJ, or temporomandibular joint, are finding that regular Botox treatments can reduce and sometimes even eliminate their pain.
Patients who clench and grind their teeth at night, also known as bruxism, are also finding that Botox can relieve their condition, protecting their teeth from fractures and excessive wear.
Dr. Crawford and Dr. Reddy have both completed extensive training and certification in the use of Botox. And who better to deliver an injection than your dentist, who has been specifically trained and is experienced in delivering multiple injections each day?
